Description
An Indiana State Police trooper was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital after a crash in Grant County Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 9 a.m. Feb. 4 on State Road 22 near County Road 600 East, near Gas City.
A preliminary state police investigation indicated that senior trooper Weston Shanks was traveling westbound on State Road 22 near County Road 600 East on "routine patrol" when he crashed his Dodge Charger into the back of a Ford pickup truck pulling a trailer, which had slowed to make a right turn.
