Description
As the 67th Grammy Awards began Sunday, comedian and host Trevor Noah announced LA businesses were given free airtime between the show.
Noah's opening speech was dedicated to those affected by the fires, promising a show that not only celebrates them, but one that also celebrates "the city that brought us so much of that music.”
“Just a few weeks ago we weren’t sure tonight that this show would even happen,” he said from backstage before walking out on the stage at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. “His city has just been through one of the largest natural disasters in American history.”
The Grammys allotted ad time to be used by Los Angeles businesses affected by the fires. Noah announced each one would have a special guest to highlight the business.
