On the afternoon of Jan. 28, 2025 a federal judge temporarily blocked President Donald Trump's freeze on federal grant and loan programs.
The federal government offers trillions of dollars in loans and grants to states, local governments, businesses, nonprofits and individuals every year. Much of that money goes to Indiana to support everything from traffic cameras for IMPD to roundabouts in Carmel to Meals on Wheels.
The decision by the White House to freeze all of that money has caught organizations off-guard, and many are asking for clarity on what it means for them and for everyday citizens.
