Description
The five-year wait for another "Chicago Med," "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago P.D." crossover event is over.
"People can expect catastrophe. People can expect incredible teamwork. People can expect heartbreak, to be on the edge of their seat, potential heart palpitations. If you're claustrophobic, you might a little triggered," said Miranda Rae Mayo ("Blood & Oil," "True Detective"), who plays Stella Kidd in "Chicago Fire." "This crossover event, I feel confident in saying it is the most epic, the best one that we have ever done."
The three-parter, titled "In the Trenches," sees Chicago's first responders in a race to save 40 people trapped underground after a gas explosion — including two of their own.
"I think the fans are going to be extremely satisfied with the performances from the people who really kick off our story," said LaRoyce Hawkins ("South Side," "Ballers"), who plays Officer Kevin Atwater in "Chicago Med." "These are characters that everybody loves, so for us to be in the same frame like this, I think this is really going to make the fans respect — they're going to put more respect on crossovers. They've always liked them, but they're going to want more after this. I don't know how we're going to do it."
The "Chicago" crossover event airs from 8-10 p.m. ET Wednesday, Jan. 29 on NBC.
