IMPD is conducting a death investigation at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on the east side of Indianapolis. Officers were called to the intersection of East 38th Street and North German Church Road around 4:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 on a report of a disturbance between vehicles. On their way to the scene, officers learned a crash had occurred between the vehicles involved in the disturbance. Once police arrived, they found a total of five vehicles had been involved in the crash. An adult male was found outside of one of the vehicles with apparent gunshot wounds. That man was pronounced dead at the scene. IMPD says the man died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. A gun was found near the victim.
