Description
A bill that would help address the state's backlog of untested rape kits just got one step closer to possibly becoming a law.
According to the bill's author, Rep. Becky Cash (R-District 25), there's a six- to eight-month wait to process hundreds of rape kits that have yet to be tested for DNA.
House Bill 1413 would establish a $2.5 million fund to help get those untested rape kits finally processed.
