A 36-year-old man was arrested after allegedly shooting a pregnant woman and killing her unborn child on Indy's near south side. IMPD officers responded to a home on the 700 block of East Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive on a report of a person shot around 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19. Police said they found a pregnant woman shot multiple times inside the home. She was later taken to a local hospital, where she is expected to survive. However, the unborn baby was pronounced dead. After reviewing evidence at the scene and speaking to multiple community members, IMPD said detectives were able to pinpoint exactly who the suspect was. This suspect information was then relayed to officers working in the area.
