Description
ESPN's Adam Shefter and NFL Network's Ian Rappoport are reporting the Indianapolis Colts will hire Lou Anarumo for defensive coordinator.
Anarumo was nicknamed the "Mad Scientist" for his ability to cancel out opposing players with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was especially effective in 2021 when he helped the Bengals make it to the Super Bowl.
The Bengals struggled each of the last two seasons, despite a late five-game win streak that saw the defense improve significantly. Anarumo was released after Cincinnati missed the playoffs.
The Colts are looking for change after letting Gus Bradley go at the end of a disappointing season that saw them miss the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year.
