On Thursday, the City-County Council’s Public Works Committee grilled Indianapolis Department of Public Works leaders with questions regarding the city’s snow policy and the use of contractors. It comes days after 13News first reported on the issue after receiving dozens of complaints from neighbors asking why their streets weren’t plowed. That’s when 13News learned about 1,400 lane miles of residential streets are not included in the city snow fight plan. In 2020, Indy DPW said the city switched from its "six-inch rule" to a "connector street" strategy.
