On Tuesday, the prosecution called two witnesses to the stand who recalled what they saw the night three Dutch soldiers were shot in downtown Indianapolis in August 2022. Simmie Poetsema was killed, and 22-year-old Shamar Duncan is now on trial for his murder. A Marion County crime scene specialist also took the stand. The jury got see photos of the crime scene, detailing where several bullet casings were found. One witness told the jury he saw three Black men start randomly pushing a group of Hispanic men.
