Description
Even though 14-year-old Deandra Clay-Staples was the smallest in her family, they say she had the biggest personality.
"She was so little, you know, 'like oh my, Moo Moo,'" her aunt, Bray'onna Curry, said.
Deandra was a dancer, who always lit up the room.
"She is a beautiful soul that we are going to miss dearly," Curry said.
According to Bray'onna, the last time they saw her was Friday night when she left with a group of kids. But Saturday morning, Curry got the news she never wanted to hear.
Police said Deandra was shot and later found dead in the snow outside around 11 a.m. Jan. 11 at the Laurelwood Apartments in the 1400 block of Salisbury Lane, near Shelby Street and East Sumner Avenue on the city's south side.
