Description
13 Investigates found many Indiana schools have AEDs but do not have a specific plan in place to use them, during its SIDELINED investigation. A new bill filed by a state senator could change that by requiring health departments to create emergency plans for schools.
Senator Linda Rogers (R-Granger) shared a copy of the new law she's proposing.
Rogers says SB 350 would require health departments to follow recommendations by the American Heart Association when developing venue specific emergency action plans for schools. The American Heart Association stated getting cardiac emergency response plans in schools is a top policy priority for this legislative session.
