Description
A Brownsburg woman is sharing an important reminder about the need for blood donations after the help from strangers saved her life.
Taryn Francissen underwent surgery in June 2024 so doctors could remove what they thought was a benign tumor. It turned out to be far more serious.
"I was diagnosed with a cancer called Ewing sarcoma, which is a rare bone cancer, often found in children, but even more rare in adults," Francissen said. "Luckily, we caught it early, and it was treatable and curable."
But it still meant the now-35-year-old still needed to go through chemotherapy and radiation treatments, even as a healthy young lady who was an athlete and donated blood regularly to help others.
