13News is taking a look at the number of homicides IMPD investigated in 2024. There were 208 last year, compared to 216 in 2023.
On Tuesday, IMPD sent 13 News the homicide stats for 2024. Last year the detectives investigated 208 homicides, 173 were criminal and 35 non criminal.
"208 is a ton and for 208 families it's catastrophic for them," Antonio Patton said.
Antonio Patton is a longtime community activist and founder of Men Of Vision Empowering here in Indy.
For him, hearing the news of so many killings is gut wrenching.
