Description
An officer-involved shooting is under investigation in Grant County, where a deputy and suspect were both injured Thursday evening.
Indiana State Police, who have launched an investigation at the sheriff's department's request, said a sheriff's deputy and a 52-year-old Marion man were injured in the shooting.
ISP said it happened around 6:45 p.m. Dec. 26 at home in the 3000 block of East County Road 450 North following a report of "an individual threatening to harm another person."
According to ISP, when officers arrived, they instructed the people inside the house to come outside. Moments later, an armed man came out of the house. The man discharged a shotgun, and a deputy was struck. Deputies fired at the suspect and struck him. The man then barricaded himself inside the home.
Police said the man came out of the house a short time later. He was taken into custody without further incident, according to ISP. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
