Description
The Morgan County Major Crimes Task Force is investigating after a 64-year-old man was hospitalized following a home invasion early Saturday morning.
According to a release from the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, around 2:40 a.m. on Dec. 21, deputies responded to the 9000 block of North State Road 39, just south of Bunker Hill Road in Mooresville after a report that a man had been attacked inside his home.
Police say the man's wife awoke to sounds of her husband screaming. When she went to investigate, she found him awake and conscious, but suffering from head injuries.
The victim reportedly told police that an unknown man attacked him and that he was struck in the head with a "large object." Police have not specified what that object might have been. It is unknown how the male intruder made his way into the house. Only the victim and his wife were inside at the time of the attack.
