Police are investigating after a person was killed in a shooting in Avon Wednesday night. Just after 9 p.m., deputies with the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of the shooting on Fairmount Court, near Ronald Reagan Parkway and Rockville Road. When officers arrived on scene, they found 22-year-old Jarrell Spires who had been shot. Moments later, he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the HCSO. During the investigation, detectives identified a vehicle that was involved in the incident and found it in Indianapolis. The 19-year-old occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody on preliminary charges.
