Around 2.6 million Stanley travel mugs have been recalled in the U.S. after reports of burns caused by faulty lids. The recall was issued Thursday for all Stanley Switchback and Trigger Action stainless steel travel mugs sold in the U.S. It includes all 12, 16 and 20 oz. versions of the mugs. According to federal regulators, the threads on the screw-on cap the mugs use can shrink when exposed to heat and torque (like when somebody screws or unscrews the lid), causing the lid to detach.
