Description
IMPD officers arrested a teen for an alleged attempted armed robbery on the city's near north side Saturday.
North District officers were called to the 3900 block of North Meridian Street, near 38th Street, on Dec. 7 on a report of an attempted armed robbery.
Officers spoke with the victim, who said a "tall, skinny, young teenage male" wearing a gray and black zip-up hoodie pointed a silver and black handgun at her and said, "give me your wallet and give me your phone."
According to police, the teen took off when the woman said she didn't have anything, so he took off southbound.
A few blocks away, an officer located a male matching the description of the suspect in the 3600 block of North Illinois Street.
The officer detained the male and found he had a silver and black airsoft gun.
