Description
The Indianapolis Fire Department rescued two men who were stranded on a "small island" in the White River early Monday morning in downtown Indianapolis.
IFD firefighters got to the 200 block of White River Parkway East Drive, near Victory Field, around 1:45 a.m. Dec. 9 and found two men yelling on a small island in the middle of the river. According to IFD, they were on the island for almost two hours before a bystander heard their yells and calls for help.
The men told the firefighters they were trying to do a good deed and get stolen bikes off of the island, but their raft floated away as they were getting them.
