Police are investigating a shooting that has wounded multiple people in Lafayette. The shooting happened Thursday night at the Lafayette Laundry laundromat in the 3100 block of South Street in Lafayette. Lafayette police officers initially received a report of a man with a gun at the laundromat around 7:40 p.m. Moments later, they received reports that shots had been fired. Officers arrived to find four victims who had apparently been shot. One of the victims, identified only as a male, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Of the other victims, one man is in critical condition, while police described the condition of another man and a woman who were injured as "stable."
