IMPD is investigating a deadly shooting Wednesday night on the near east side of downtown Indianapolis. Around 11:30 p.m. Nov. 6, IMPD officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 1200 block of East Washington Street, just east of Interstate 65. When police arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot. Medics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. The Marion County Coroner's Office will determine the exact cause and manner of death, and will share the identity of the man once family has been notified. Police have not shared information about a possible suspect or motive at this time.
