A Marion County judge sentenced Jovonni Sanders, of Indianapolis, to 40 years in prison, with another 10 years suspended, for a string of 15 armed robberies in Indianapolis.
Between December 2021 and March 2022, Sanders went on a robbery spree. Several happened on the same day, including businesses, gas stations, a liquor store, multiple dollar generals and a restaurant.
Sanders was taken into custody Friday, April 1, 2022, in the 8300 block of Michigan Road, near West 86th Street, on the city's northwest side. He was arrested by an IMPD SWAT team after he was seen leaving the scene of two robberies.
Sanders pleaded guilty to one count of attempted armed robbery, 12 counts of armed robbery, and two counts of robbery.
