Researchers are asking people to help them find special microbes in household appliances.
The Two Frontiers Project believes they could help capture carbon dioxide or break down pollution and actually help slow down global warming.
The United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has also said in addition to reducing fossil fuels, the world also needs to remove large amounts of carbon dioxide already in the atmosphere in order to avoid climate change.
