Indiana State Police is assisting with the investigation into a deadly police shooting involving the Lawrenceburg Police Department at a southern Indiana casino. On Oct. 21, state police identified the man who had been killed as 45-year-old Milo Kirsh, of Avon. According to a release from ISP, around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, a disturbance was reported on the fourth floor of the Hollywood Casino and Hotel in Lawrenceburg. A man was allegedly threatening and chasing another person with a knife. Three officers with the LPD arrived on scene and learned that Kirsh had begun firing a handgun on the fourth floor of the hotel. Police rushed to the fourth floor and reportedly found Kirsh in the hallway. Police say Kirsh began shooting at the officers, causing the officers to return fire. One of the officers struck and killed Kirsh during the shootout.
