Description
The undefeated Indiana Hoosiers' starting quarterback, Kurtis Rourke, has undergone surgery on his injured right thumb, according to ESPN.
Rourke was injured during the first half of Saturday’s 56-7 rout over Nebraska when his hand hit the helmet of a Cornhuskers defensive player.
"We do expect (Rourke) to return during regular season with a thumb injury. That's all I'll say about the injury," Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti said.
According to ESPN college football senior writer Pete Thamel, the team is optimistic that Rourke could be back for IU's game against Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 2.
