An Indianapolis man has been charged for his alleged role in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 14-year-old bicyclist on the far east side of Indianapolis. Prosecutors charged Joshua Raine with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death or catastrophic injury. The charge was filed seven days after the incident happened. The crash was reported just before 10 p.m. Oct. 10 in the 1100 block of North Cumberland Road, just north of 10th Street. An IMPD spokesperson said a boy on a bicycle, later identified as 14-year-old Wilberto Rivera III, was riding south on Cumberland Road when he was hit from behind by a car that fled the scene after the crash. Rivera was taken to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis in critical condition, police said. On Oct. 14, the Marion County Coroner's Office confirmed Rivera died from his injuries in the crash.
