Police are investigating the daytime robbery of a package delivery person. It was around 4:30 Thursday afternoon when Ring doorbell video captured a FedEx driver walk up to a home near East 10th Street and North College Avenue. A man then comes up behind him. The man in green pants begins to tell the driver the packages are his. Then all of a sudden the man snatches the packages out the driver's hands and takes off running. "That's a first. So, this is the first time I have actually seen just someone rip packages out of a driver's hands," said Michael Carter, the homeowner. It's not the first time Carter's packages were targeted. There's video from last year showing a thief approach rom the side of their home and grab a package lying outside their front door. Little did he know Carter's wife was on the other side of the door. "This is a far cry from shootings and anything else. We're not in danger, but it's still unpleasant and scary," said Carter. And while Carter says the items are replaceable, he wants to stop having to pay twice for things he's already bought. "I hope sincerely that they catch the folks, certainly take these robberies off of porches seriously. I know we do, but we hope that we see a decrease in this sooner rather than later," said Carter. Carter says he's had several packages stolen from his front porch. He says someone stole baby pouches from his house. To Carter's surprise, the person brought them back. Though this time, he doesn't think he'll be that lucky.
