Description
One person was critically injured Sunday afternoon when they were struck by a police car on Indianapolis' north side.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Sept. 15 on Michigan Road at Double Tree Boulevard, which is just south of West 86th Street.
"Preliminarily, investigators believe that the involved IMPD officer in a marked police vehicle was turning southbound onto Michigan Road from a parking lot when the pedestrian was struck," an IMPD spokesperson said in a statement. "Preliminarily, the pedestrian was believed to have been crossing the street from the west side of Michigan Road to the east when he was struck. "
The pedestrian, believed to be a man, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
The officer was not injured.
