The U.S. Supreme Court isn’t ruling yet on Louisiana’s new congressional map, keeping it in place for now but asking for more arguments.
Back in 2022, a federal judge ordered Louisiana to redraw its map to include a second majority-Black district from Shreveport to Baton Rouge. The map faces a lawsuit claiming it’s unconstitutional.
WWL’s Political Analyst Clancy DuBos says this delay sets the stage for a potentially landmark decision when the court revisits the case this fall.
