Description
It's one of history's greatest mysteries.
On July 2, 1937, aviator Amelia Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan disappeared over the Pacific Ocean while attempting to make the first around-the-world flight along the equator.
On the 88th anniversary of her mysterious disappearance, Purdue Research Foundation and Archaeological Legacy Institute announced a joint effort to locate Earhart's lost aircraft.
