The hot weather has a lot of families headed to the pool, but if you're not trained in some basic water safety, a great time can turn tragic. According to the Centers for Disease Control, drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages 1-4. The agency also says drowning is the second-leading cause of unintentional injury death among kids ages 5-14.        State lawmakers want to take a closer look at that to see what can be done here in Indiana to prevent that from happening.
