Description

The speed limit is increasing on almost all of Interstate 465 in Indianapolis starting Tuesday. Beginning in July, the speed limit for the majority of the interstate will increase from 55 to 65. The change comes after House Enrolled Act 1461 passed during the 2025 legislative session. New speed limit signs will be installed around most of I-465 beginning on or after July 1. INDOT said "minimal traffic impacts are anticipated during the installation process," which is expected to take around one week and include some daytime shoulder closures.
