Description
The Cumberland Metropolitan Police Department is now conducting a homicide investigation into the deadly shooting of a 12-year-old boy at an apartment early Friday morning.
The shooting was reported shortly after 1 a.m. June 27 in the 11500 block of Dunshire Drive, near Washington and North Muessling streets.
Responding Cumberland Metropolitan Police Department officers found a 12-year-old boy – later identified as Jeremiah Cotton – with an apparent gunshot wound. Medics took him to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis in "very critical condition," police said, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
