Description
Award-winning author Dennis Lehane has had some of his books adapted into major Hollywood films, including "Shutter Island," "Mystic River," "Gone Baby Gone" and "Live by Night."
Following the success of his limited series "Black Bird," Lehane is reuniting with Apple TV+ as creator/writer/executive producer of "Smoke," which follows a troubled detective (Jurnee Smollett) and a perplexing arson investigator (Taron Egerton) as they follow the trails of two serial arsonists — and it's inspired by true events.
"It's populated by a great cast and a really complex story. Kind of like 'Black Bird,' I think it starts with a small focus, and it starts to unravel in bigger and bigger ways," said Oscar and Emmy nominee Greg Kinnear ("As Good As It Gets," "The Kennedys"), who plays Harvey Englehart, the head of the chief jurisdiction of the local fire department.
New episodes of "Smoke" are released Fridays through Aug. 15 on Apple TV+.
