In late January, a Castle Rock, Colorado, police officer’s body camera rolled as he found a couple sitting in their car in a Wells Fargo parking lot. It was clear they needed help. Tom, the husband, is seen on the video holding up a stack of gift cards several inches thick. He told the officer the stack included more than $20,000 in gift cards. Over the next 10 minutes of body camera video, the woman who convinced the couple to buy the cards admitted to the scam, seeming to want to get the couple help.
