Description
A Muncie woman has been sentenced to 26 years in prison after causing a deadly crash in downtown Muncie during a police chase. The crash on Jan. 23, 2024, killed a man and an unborn baby in another car.
Olivia Larue, 41, pleaded guilty to five charges Monday, April 7 in two separate cases in Delaware County Circuit Court 3.
Larue is taking a plea deal that calls for her to receive no more than 17 1/2 years in prison for dealing cocaine in Delaware County.
Police were trying to arrest her for that on Jan. 23, 2024, when she fled in an SUV. Larue ran a red light at Mulberry and Main streets and crashed into an Acura, which flipped onto its top. The passenger in the car, 30-year-old Javonta Jones-Reid, died. Jones' sister, 27-year-old Acacia Hammond, was driving and was 16 weeks pregnant. Hammond suffered serious injuries and lost her unborn baby.
