Description
The sound of gunfire is causing panic in one Indianapolis community, and it's not coming from a weapon.
Neighbors on Minnesota Street on the southeast side say the terrifying sounds are coming from cars.
"It sounds like a gunshot," neighbor Angie Brown said. "It kind of almost makes us feel like we're in a war zone."
Neighbors say they hear it almost daily: car mufflers that mimic the sound of gunfire.
It's an exhaust modification called "burble tune" or "straight piping" and noise is just part of the problem in this area. Neighbors say their street is being treated like a drag strip.
