The Hendricks County prosecutor said Thursday the sheriff's deputies who fatally shot a man outside the county courthouse last month "acted lawfully" in their use of deadly force. Mark Vawter, 65, the great-grandfather of two children killed in a Plainfield crash during a police chase in February, was shot by Hendricks County Sheriff's Deputies Zachary Emmitt and Nathan Phillips outside the courthouse in Danville May 5.
