Description
One man died and another remains at the hospital after a construction accident Monday evening in Clearwater.
It happened just before 5 p.m. at the site of a new Publix Super Market that is being built on South Missouri Avenue.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police say the two men were seriously hurt when a scissor lift collapsed.
One was transported to Morton Plant Hospital and died less than an hour later. The other went to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are still working to notify their families.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration(OSHA) has been contacted.
