A ground stop is in place at Tampa International Airport as thunderstorms move through the area Wednesday evening. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, all arriving and departing flights will be on hold until at least 7 p.m. Currently, incoming flights are circling the Gulf while outgoing flights are sitting at their gates, TPA officials said. As of 6:30 p.m., there have been 22 cancellations and 103 delays Wednesday at TPA, according to flight tracking site Flight Aware. TPA officials said lightning and wind shear are a concern for both the flights and the ground crews.
