The Trump administration is getting significant push back from many in Washington. After it shared plans to eliminate the 988 suicide prevention and crisis line dedicated to helping LGBTQ+ youth. “People's lives are on the line, when we take away critical anonymous skilled resources," said Michelle McDaniel. The specialized 988 suicide crisis line for LGBTQ+ youth also known as the "Press 3 option" is set to end July 17. "We're getting more and more calls from people who part of the LGBTQ+ community who are very afraid,” said McDaniel. McDaniel is the CEO of Crisis Connections, one of three providers in the state that partners with 988. She's worried the end of the direct line will do a lot of harm to young lives.
