Authorities are searching for an inmate who they say escaped a facility in St. Petersburg over the weekend. In a statement to 10 Tampa Bay News, the Florida Department of Corrections (FLDOC) said Jamie Jenks left the St. Petersburg Community Release Center, located on 8th Avenue South, without permission on Aug. 3. According to court records, Jenks was sentenced for petit theft, and previous criminal charges include grand theft and felony/delinquency with a gun or concealed weapon. Authorities are asking anyone with more information on his whereabouts to contact a local law enforcement agency or FLDOC at 850-922-6867 or 1-866-850-0355.
