Description
“They don't mess around. They come right in, land, and get their blood meal.”
That’s how one expert described the salt marsh mosquitoes currently plaguing parts of Hillsborough County. Known for being aggressive biters, these mosquitoes are becoming a growing concern this summer.
"Those are going to be our salt marsh mosquitoes — the main species is Aedes taeniorhynchus," Gabriela Henderson, the community relations coordinator for Hillsborough Mosquito Management, said.
