Description
A man has been arrested in connection to a double homicide that happened eight years ago at the Zota Beach Resort in Longboat Key.
On August 4, 2017, two employees were found shot to death outside of the resort in what investigators believe was an armed robbery. Police say Timothy Hurley, 59, a front desk manager, and Kevin Carter, 51, a security guard, were found by a hotel guest.
At the time, investigators had released surveillance video of a man walking by the hotel bar while holding a gun. He reportedly stopped, looked at the camera and used his finger to indicate a neck being slashed.
Another surveillance clip reportedly showed the man walking out of the resort with a cash drawer.
