Description
Three kids, ages 11 to 14, have been arrested in connection to a boat fire that temporarily shut down a portion of the Bradenton Riverwalk on Monday.
Crews from the Bradenton police and fire departments responded at 1:30 p.m. to Twin Dolphin Marina, adjacent to the Green Bridge. Witnesses reportedly called 911 and told police they saw several kids fire something off of the bridge.
Photos and videos from the scene showed flames coming from the top of a boat docked at the marina with plumes of heavy black smoke moving over the bridge.
Crews were eventually able to put out the blaze, which officials say caused "significant damage" to the 45-foot yacht.
During their investigation, detectives say they obtained CCTV video from the city of Bradenton cameras located on the riverwalk. The video appeared to show three kids with flare guns just before and after the fire started, according to police.
