Description
Anh-Thu Nguyen dedicated her life to inspiring other women in the Asian American community to fly. The 44-year-old from Miami, Florida was killed in a plane crash in Greenwood Wednesday morning.
The NTSB said the plane crashed shortly after take off from the Indy South Greenwood Airport.
Responding crews from the Greenwood Fire Department, Greenwood Police Department and Indiana State Police found a small plane that crashed into a ditch behind a Circle K gas station, not far from the Nest Event Center.
The pilot, Nguyen was the sole occupant of the plane and was pronounced dead at the scene, the fire department said. Now, others in the community are remembering her and her legacy.
Jamie Swanson was a friend who met Nguyen when Swanson wanted to get involved in flying.
