Description
The city of Lawrence celebrated the 65th anniversary of when it first elected a mayor in 1960.
On Friday, current Mayor Deborah Whitfield unveiled a plaque engraved with each mayor's face and term on it at the Lawrence Government Center. Whitfield wanted to celebrate the legacy of Lawrence's past seven mayors and what they accomplished.
