Description
The push to bring Major League Soccer to Indianapolis is on to a new phase.
The Marion County Capital Improvement Board of Managers is now accepting construction proposals for the site at 355 East Pearl St., just southeast of downtown.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, Aug. 22.
According to proposal documents obtained by 13News, the stadium would seat between 20,000 and 25,000 fans, meeting FIFA and MLS standards, and serve as a multi-use venue for concerts and community events. City leaders hope it will become a pedestrian-friendly anchor on the southeast side of downtown, tying into public transit, bike paths and nearby businesses.
