Description
Denver City Council voted Monday night to eliminate minimum parking requirements for all new developments citywide. The ordinance follows Longmont's lead in May 2024, as city leaders aim to accelerate housing construction and reduce bureaucratic barriers for developers.
The ordinance passed with 10 council members in favor and three opposed, removing the city's longstanding requirement that builders include a minimum number of parking spaces with new developments. Denver Mayor Mike Johnston will sign the ordinance, a spokesperson said.
